Press Release : Wines of Georgia Returns to London Wine Fair 2025 with an Unmissable Showcase Stand No: E40
Georgian wine is making waves in the UK, and Wines of Georgia is set to return to the London Wine Fair 2025 with a larger presence. The stand will feature 16 leading Georgian wineries, offering UK buyers and wine professionals a first-hand experience of Georgia’s distinctive wines—from the qvevri-aged expressions to elegant, modern styles, both from producers seeking UK distribution and those already available in the UK.
A Market on the Rise: Georgian Wine’s Growing Impact in the UK
The UK has been a strategic priority for the National Wine Agency of Georgia since 2014, with targeted investment driving remarkable growth. Exports of Georgian wine to the UK surged by 72% in 2024, reaching 426,000 litres, reflecting the growing appetite for authentic, terroir-driven wines, the rising demand for indigenous Georgian varietals and qvevri-aged wines.
In 2025, the National Wine Agency of Georgia increased its investment in the UK market by 50%, including a new fund to support retail promotions.
Sarah Abbott MW, who leads the UK campaign for Wines of Georgia, explains: "We’re witnessing a real shift in perception—UK buyers are increasingly drawn to Georgian wine’s rich heritage and artisanal appeal. New listings in Waitrose, Lidl and Majestic highlight Georgia’s broad appeal, and listings in prestige on-trade are evidence of Georgia’s fine-wine credentials. This year’s lineup reflects this relevance and diversity. The London Wine Fair is the perfect platform for the UK trade to explore these wines and connect with the latest generation of Georgian producers."
Masterclasses
To deepen industry knowledge and understanding of the wines, masterclasses led by Sarah Abbott MW will be held daily on the stand. These sessions will introduce buyers to Georgia’s exceptional wine styles, food pairings, and market opportunities. Tastings will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, but attendees can secure a spot in advance by emailing Madeleine@swirlwinegroup.com.

• Qvevri & Natural Wine Appeal: Georgian wines align with growing UK demand for low-intervention, sustainable winemaking.

A Legacy of 8,000 Years, A Future of Innovation
Georgia is one of the oldest wine cultures in the world, with an unbroken 8,000-year tradition of winemaking. Today, its wines strike a balance between heritage and modern innovation, offering age-old qvevri methods alongside fresh, elegant styles of Saperavi and Rkatsiteli.
The UK trade is increasingly embracing Georgian wine for its sense of place, distinctive profile, and premium positioning.
